So you won’t have to pay us a cent unless we sell your property. No marketing costs – NOTHING!

 

Many agents expect you to pay extra (over and above the commission) for any advertising done on your property. Some even expect you to pay for this advertising up front.

 

We see three major problems with this for you.

 

Firstly, you are taking all the risk. If your property doesn’t sell from those adverts - you’ve lost that money with no result.

 

Secondly, although you have lost - the agent has often gained. Even though your property did not sell from the adverts (that you paid for), the agent would have still received enquiry from potential buyers whom they can sell a different property. They may have even received enquiry from people who have a house to sell. Effectively you have paid for an advert that has helped your agent obtain other business - does this sound fair?

 

Finally, think about this - “You go to a real estate agent to find a buyer for your home. Real estate agents should have buyers, just as butcher shops should have meat.... ‘Going to a real estate agent and being asked for money so that the agent can find a buyer makes as much sense as going to a butcher shop and being asked for money to find a cow.’ You are the seller of a home, not the buyer of advertising.”
